Our “standard” laminations are dry-mounted onto a 3/8-inch thick high density wood board. This Ph-neutral pressed wood provides a rigid, durable, moisture-resistant backing. Unlike foam core which has no moisture resistance but is still used widely by traditional framers, our pressed wood is a strong construction material that is not affected by household humidity.

Larger-sized images are “flushmounted” by Silver Maple onto a lighter masonite backing. One-inch pressed wood adhered to the back and sides of the masonite gives added strength to these museum-style laminations. “Flushmounts” are ideal for fine art posters and a variety of large format projects.

The edges of our laminations are all beveled, sanded and painted. Eleven colors are available for the edges, including our classics—gold, silver and black.

A simple groove or keyhole slot on the back of each finished piece adds a practical ready-to-hang feature to our product.

Color mats can also be used to enhance your fine art laminations. These mats are made of high quality acid-free paper and are available in 50 different colors.
